GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC FOR WOMEN, RAMANAGAR (GPW RAMANAGAR) The emblem of Government Polytechnic For Women, Ramanagar (GPW Ramanagar) features a gearwheel with the grids of a globe housing the motifs of a shield, inscribed with the motifs of an open book supporting a traditional lamp and an inscription the polytechnic’s motto in Kannada ‘ವಿದ್ಯೆ ವಿನಯೇನ ಶೋಭತೆ’, which translates to ‘Knowledge Shines Best With Humility’. The geawheel is supported by a pair of laurels and a banner inscribed with the name and place of the college in Kannada. The book paired with the lamp represents the illumination of the mind, the removal of ignorance and the pursuit of academic excellence; the gearwheel represents industry, engineering, and technical skills; the globe symbolises a global outlook, meaning the technical knowledge and capabilities imparted here prepare students to compete on a global stage; the golden laurels signify honour, victory, academic achievement and the celebration of success;
