GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE BOKARO (GEC BOKARO) The emblem of Government Engineering College Bokaro (GEC Bokaro) uses the emblem of the Jharkhand University of Technology. This features the map of the State of Jharkhand placed inside a gear wheel supported by a traditional lamp and surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ is placed inside a white circle. The circle is ensconced by a red border with blue outline, which carries its name in Devanagari and English. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.
