GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, SUMBAL (GDC SUMBAL) The yellow, red and black emblem of Government Degree College, Sumbal (GDC Sumbal) features a crescent moon with a glowing star ensconced by a yellow ribbon inscribed with the Arabic text ‘مِّنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ’, which translates to ‘From Darkness Unto Light’ and Urdu text ‘علم و آگاہی’, which means ‘Knowledge and Awareness’. Below this on a banner, the name of the college is written. The crescent moon is a symbol of growth, progress and the dawn of a new era in Islam; and the six-pointed star represents a guiding beacon of excellence, truth and destination in Islam.
