SYED HAMEEDHA ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE (SHASC) The emblem of Syed Hameedha Arts & Science College (SHASC) features a mortarboard hat surmounted by the motto of the college ‘My Lord Advance Me in Knowledge’ and supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Arabic ‘رب زدني علما’ meaning ‘My Lord Advance Me in Knowledge’ ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college and a pair of green stars. The mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; and the green stars are modern, widely recognised symbols of Islam, representing paradise, divine favor, and the five pillars.
