JAMTARA COLLEGE, JAMTARA The emblem of Jamtara College, Jamtara features a circle with the motifs of an open book, a twig with three leaves of bilva tree, a structure of an atom and ‘nagara’ a local drum and the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘आत्म दीपो भवः’ meaning 'Let One's Atma Illuminate'. The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Devanagari and English and its year of establishment. The twig of leaves symbolises the holy trinity (Trimurti), Lord Shiva's three eyes and the three fundamental qualities of nature (Gunas); the atomic structure denotes science; the book represents the pursuit of knowledge, academic learning, and literacy; and the drum represents the rich cultural heritage and traditional values of the region.
