HIMACHAL PRADESH STATE COUNCIL OF EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH AND TRAINING, SOLAN (SCERT SOLAN) The emblem of Himachal Pradesh State Council of Educational Research and Training, Solan (SCERT Solan) features a yellow circle placed on a thirteen-petal lotus flowerspread housing an image of a swan. The lotus is ensconced by a circular border, which is inscribed with the name and place of the college. The name and place of the college are inscribed on a red circular border in Devanagari. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु’ (Shanti mantra, Taittiriya Upanishad), which translates to ‘May our Study be Enlightening’ is inscribed on a red banner placed below the seal. The swan placed over a golden sun, which is associated with Goddess Saraswati, symbolises vairagya (detachment), purity and viveka (the intellectual ability to discriminate between right and wrong or truth and untruth.
