GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC FOR WOMEN, JAMMU (GPW JAMMU) The blue and purple emblem of Government Polytechnic For Women, Jammu (GPW Jammu) features a traditional lamp housed in a gearwheel and surmounted by the name of the college. The name of the State is written on a banner placed above the seal and the name of the managing body is written on a banner placed below. The seal is crested by a mountain range and a crown. The gearwheel represents industry, engineering, manufacturing, technical education and technological progress; the lamp symbolises knowledge, enlightenment and the eradication of ignorance; the mountain range refers to Himalayas; and the crown represents excellence, honour, and the high standards of achievement expected from the students.
