VALLABH GOVERNMENT COLLEGE MANDI (VGC MANDI) The emblem of Vallabh Government College Mandi (VGC Mandi) features a shield inscribed with sunburst rays, the monogram of the initials of the college ‘VGC’, the Lion Capital of Ashoka and a pair of Dharma Chakras. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘सत्यम् शिवम् सुन्दरम्’, which translates to ‘Truth, Goodness Beauty’ is written on a ribbon placed below the shield. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the Lion Capital of Ashoka signifies that the college is aligned with national standards, values and democratic integrity; the Dharma Chakras - the 24-spoke wheels represent progress, movement and the continuous cycle of learning and personal growth; and the sunburst design with rays emanating outward symbolises the dawn of knowledge overcoming the darkness of ignorance.
