The emblem of Government Medical College and Hospital, Namakkal (GMCHNKL) features the Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents crested by an open book and placed on the image of Namakkal Fort, which is an important icon of the locale. The motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a red banner, the motto of the college is written. The staff with the snake has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession.

Earlier it was known as Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering (KLCE) and Koneru Lakshmaiah University, located in Vaddeswaram, Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh. The red and blue emblem of the foundation has a gear wheel with twelve teeth of which nine bear the symbols of nine planets. It houses the motifs of a factory, atomic symbol, a bridge and a transmission tower within a circle. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.
