Below the seal, on a golden banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்க கசடற’ (391, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Learn What is Worthy’ is inscribed. The book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the human with mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the tree symbolises strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; and the sun sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
