The institute was accorded the status of a university under Gujarat State Act No. 8 of 2009. The emblem of the university has a pictorial and a wordmark. The pictorial has the letter ‘C’ written stylistically holding an orange dot in its counter and it is supported by a pair of white swooshes on a blue quadrilateral. On its right its acronym is written in blue serif typeface and its name is written below that. The colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour orange signifies energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.

Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) was established by an Act of State Legislature on January 16, 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the State. It got its current name in 2015. The red and blue emblem of the university has a structure of an atom with a sun placed in the centre and supported at the bottom by a pair of hands on a blue circle, meaning the nourish, support and propagate technical and scientific education. It is ensconced in a red border which bears the name of the university in Punjabi and English. Formerly called Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), established by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly, was formally inaugurated on June 16, 1983. The insignia of the institution has a innumerable concentric petalled lotus in a red circle encircled by its name and motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञान पंथ कृपान कै धारा’ meaning ‘Cult of Knowledge is Through the Blessings’ and is ensconced in a blue gear wheel turning clockwise. GOA UNIVERSITY Goa University (GU) has three campuses in Panaji, Margao and Vasco da Gama. Its history dates back to the 17th century, when the Portuguese established the first university courses in Goa.
