MAHARANA PRATAP GOVERNMENT COLLEGE AMB (MPGC AMB)

The emblem of Maharana Pratap Government College Amb (MPGC Amb) features a circle housing landscape of green hills, red sun, yellow valley and a water body. An open book and a glowing traditional lamp is placed on the landscape. The circle is ensconced by a yellowish circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college in Devanagari. The motto of the college in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्यया अमृतमश्नुते’ (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’ is written on an orange banner, which is placed on the circle at the bottom. The name and place of the college in English is written around the seal on top. The status of the college is written in bold blue capitals below the seal. These elements are supported by two pairs of cradling hands in orange and green. The mountain range refers to The Shivalik Foot-Hills, the valley beneath refers to the fertile Soan (Swan) Valley and river refers to the Swan River. The rising sun represents the dawn of knowledge, enlightenment and the elimination of ignorance through higher learning; the lamp symbolises the internal flame of knowledge, wisdom, and continuous guidance; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the cradling hands framing the emblem symbolise support, collaboration, care and the nurturing relationship between the students and the faculty.

UNIVERSITY OF RAJASTHAN The University of Rajputana was established in January 8, 1947. Its emblem is a three layered concentric circle. The inner circle in black colour has a traditional lamp in the middle supported on left by Ashoka Chakra, right by a book, below these by ‘1947’ and topped by its name.
