The blue circular seal of Sangli District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd. (Sangli DCC Bank) has five hands forming the spokes of a wheel with an ear of corn placed in the middle. Its name in Devanagari and motto in Sanskrit ‘युगधर्मः सहकारः’ meaning ‘Duty of this Age is Cooperation’ is written on banners placed on the wheel. The corn refers to agriculture and agricultural financing and the wheel refers to industry and industrial financing and the wheel refers to cooperation, unity, strength, motion, dynamism and perpetuity. The colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. WESTERN AIR COMMAND The origin of the Western Air Command can be traced back to the nascent years of independent India, when the various formations of the Air Force were organised into two groups. On July 22, 1949 the No 1 Operational Group was re-designated as the Operational Command. The Command assumed its present name of Headquarters Western Air Command on June 10, 1963. Headquarters Western Air Command, located at Subroto Park, New Delhi, has over 200 bases placed under its command and has been involved in all major operations in India since independence.
