The yellow and red oval emblem of The Mahabaleshwar Urban Co-op. Bank Ltd. has a motif of Goddess Lakshmi seated on a lotus showering blessings and wealth and supported by a pair of elephants on top and circumscribed by a decorative outline. Its year of establishment is inscribed in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वेऽपि सुखिनः सन्तु’ (Shanti Paat) meaning ‘May Everyone Be Happy’ is written at the bottom. All these are ensconced by a red oval border bearing the name and place of the bank in Devanagari. Goddess Lakshmi symbolises good fortune and beauty, abundance, prosperity, wealth and harmony and is believed to relieve all sorrows caused by the dearth of money.

DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. Accordingly, the Government of India declared the forensic science Institutions, as Science and Technology institutions. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology.
