The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; veena refers to arts, culture, heritage and tradition; and the book  refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.
