The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the other motifs refer to subject disciplines of science, engineering and technology.
