These are ensconced by a red and orange circular border bearing the name of the bank in Devanagari and its motto in Maathi ‘आर्त सेवा हीच ईश सेवा’ meaning ‘Service to God is Service to the Soul’. The gear wheels refer to industry, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the shaking hands refer to unity, support, togetherness and strength and the Goddess Saraswathi refers to diligent accounting and management.

DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. Accordingly, the Government of India declared the forensic science Institutions, as Science and Technology institutions. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology.
