EMBLEM OF LAKSHADWEEP
The archipelago of Lakshadweep is the tiniest Union Territory of India consists of twelve atolls, three reefs and five submerged banks. It is an uni-district Union Territory with an area of 32 square kilometre comprising ten inhabited islands, seventeen uninhabited islands attached islets, four newly formed islets and five submerged reefs. The inhabited islands are Kavaratti, Agatti, Amini, Kadmat, Kiltan, Chetlat, Bitra, Andrott, Kalpeni and Minicoy. Bitra is the smallest of all having only a population of 271 persons and Bangaram is the uninhabited island. The emblem of Lakshadweep shows the Dharma Chakra, supported by two coral fish and crested by a coconut palm-tree.
