EMBLEM OF PUNJAB 
Maharaja Ranjit Singh was the remarkable leader who united the whole Punjab under one flag. His rule stretched from the banks of the Yamuna to the Khyber and from Kashmir to Multan. The emblem of Punjab state government shows the Asoka Capital and its motto, being the emblem of India, surrounded by a bordure charged in chief with an ear of rice and in base with two swords in saltire and on the dexter and sinister the words ‘पंजाब सरकार’ in Devanagari and 'ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ' in Gurmukhii. Below the seal is a ribbon with the title 'Govt. Punjab'. The emblem is tinctured orange.

An open book supports the shield. The motifs are surmounted by a red banner inscribed with the name and place of the college in Tamil and supported by another red banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘ஒழுக்கத்தின் எய்துவர் மேன்மை’ (Thiruvalluvar, 137, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Through Discipline, One Attains Progress’. The motifs refer to the historical and cultural traditions of the place of the college; and the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom.

VALLABHACHARYA TILAK The tilak of Vallbhacharyas is said to consist of two white lines down the forehead, forming a half-circle at its base and a white dot between them. Vallabhacharya (1479–1531 CE) was a devotional philosopher, who founded the Pushti sect in India, following the philosophy of ‘Shuddha Advaita’ (Pure Non-dualism). He wrote a very important commentary called ‘Shri Bhashya’. The Vallabhacharya sect worships Krishna in his character of Bala Gopala.

THE JAMMU & KASHMIR LIGHT INFANTRY India's first Light Infantry was born out of the peoples' response in 1947, to the invasion of Kashmir by Pakistan. In the difficult days of the invasion, the population formed local defence groups. These were later organised into militias responsible for specific sectors, e.g., Leh, Nubra, Jammu, Punch, etc. Over a period, these were grouped into the Militia battalions. Two of these were later converted into the Ladakh Scouts. The militia battalions operated with skill on the Line of Control (LoC) and in the 1971 Indo-Pak War earned three battle honours. In 1972, the militia battalions were brought on par with the army units, and in 1976 designated the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI). The 8th JAK LI earned great honour by capturing a Pakistani post at 21,000 feet at the Siachen Glacier in 1987. Its Regimental Centre is Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir and its Regimental insignia is a pair of crossed muskets. ...

VARDHMAN MAHAVEER OPEN UNIVERSITY Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU) is a State open university located in Kota, Rajasthan, India. It was established in 1987 and is named after Vardhman Mahaveer, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism. The circular emblem of the university has an atomic structure, a veena, an open book, its name and place and its year of establishment on a yellow circle with a red border. This is surrounded by a sixteen petalled lotus in black and a brown border, which carries the name of the university in Devanagari  and banner bearing its motto in Sanskrit ‘सा विध्या या विमुक्तये meaning ‘That is Knowledge, which Liberates’ at the bottom.
