EMBLEM OF MEGHALAYA
The state emblem consists of mountain peaks representing Khasi, Jaintia and Garo hills with clouds, alluding with the State’s name ‘abode of clouds’; three monoliths representing three tribes; a ‘wangala’ festival drum and a pair of ‘rikgitok’ and ‘paila’ beaded necklaces; which is topped by the name ‘Government of Megahlaya’. This vibrant coloured emblem was formally unveiled by Metbah Lyngdoh, the Assembly Speaker during the golden jubilee celebrations of statehood on January 21, 2022. This was selected through an open competition amongst the citizens of the state. The design submitted by Mario Pathaw on December 23, 2021. The state Cabinet examined the design on January 11 and again on January 17 after which the approval was give on January 19 2022.

GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE, UDUMALPET (GACUDPT) The emblem of Government Arts College, Udumalpet (GACUDPT) features an oblong panel housing the images of Thirumoorthy Hills and Panchalingam Falls, Sri Prasanna Vinayagar Temple, Amaravathi Dam and a sports stadium with a runner carrying a torch. An open book supports the shield. The motifs are surmounted by a red banner inscribed with the name and place of the college in Tamil and supported by another red banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘ஒழுக்கத்தின் எய்துவர் மேன்மை’ (Thiruvalluvar, 137, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Through Discipline, One Attains Progress’. The motifs refer to the historical and cultural traditions of the place of the college; and the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom.

VALLABHACHARYA TILAK The tilak of Vallbhacharyas is said to consist of two white lines down the forehead, forming a half-circle at its base and a white dot between them. Vallabhacharya (1479–1531 CE) was a devotional philosopher, who founded the Pushti sect in India, following the philosophy of ‘Shuddha Advaita’ (Pure Non-dualism). He wrote a very important commentary called ‘Shri Bhashya’. The Vallabhacharya sect worships Krishna in his character of Bala Gopala.

THE JAMMU & KASHMIR LIGHT INFANTRY India's first Light Infantry was born out of the peoples' response in 1947, to the invasion of Kashmir by Pakistan. In the difficult days of the invasion, the population formed local defence groups. These were later organised into militias responsible for specific sectors, e.g., Leh, Nubra, Jammu, Punch, etc. Over a period, these were grouped into the Militia battalions. Two of these were later converted into the Ladakh Scouts. The militia battalions operated with skill on the Line of Control (LoC) and in the 1971 Indo-Pak War earned three battle honours. In 1972, the militia battalions were brought on par with the army units, and in 1976 designated the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI). The 8th JAK LI earned great honour by capturing a Pakistani post at 21,000 feet at the Siachen Glacier in 1987. VARDHMAN MAHAVEER OPEN UNIVERSITY Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU) is a State open university located in Kota, Rajasthan, India. It was established in 1987 and is named after Vardhman Mahaveer, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism. The circular emblem of the university has an atomic structure, a veena, an open book, its name and place and its year of establishment on a yellow circle with a red border. This is surrounded by a sixteen petalled lotus in black and a brown border, which carries the name of the university in Devanagari  and banner bearing its motto in Sanskrit ‘सा विध्या या विमुक्तये meaning ‘That is Knowledge, which Liberates’ at the bottom. On a red banner placed below the shield, the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्या परम दैवतम्’ ( Bhartrihari, Niti Shatakam ) meaning ‘Knowledge is the Supreme Deity’ is written. MAHATMA GANDHI CHITRAKOOT GRAMODAY VISHWAVIDYALAYA The emblem of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) has a crown of wheat supported by the footwear of Mahatma Gandhi with a rising sun in the background. These are supported by a partial wheel of gear, in the counter of which its motto in Sanskrit ‘विश्वं ग्रामे प्रतिष्टितम्' meaning 'The World is Established from the Village' is inscribed. The crown of wheat symbolises agriculture and village produce; the pair of footwear of Mahatma denote that the university follows in the footsteps of his ideals; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the gear wheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.
