The seal of Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) is in the form of a decorated pennant with the motif of a Greek Warrior and its motto in Latin ‘Per Ardua ad Astra’ (Selected by Colonel Sykes) meaning ‘Through Struggle to the Stars’. Its name is written below the pennant and the acronym surmounts the motif. The Greek warrior denotes healing, eternity and the valour and the pennant denotes championship and victory.

KALAKSHETRA FOUNDATION  Kalakshetra literally means a holy place of arts (Kala: Arts, Kshetra: Field or Holy place). Deriving inspiration from this noble ideal, Kalakshetra Foundation was established. Kalakshetra Foundation as it is known today was recognised by the Government of India as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament in 1993 and is now an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
