BENGALURU INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

The emblem of Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES) is the mythical twin headed bird of ‘Gandaberunda’ in earthy red with golden wings and decorative ornaments. The name of the film festival is written in Kannada and English on the right in red and black. The mythical bird is adapted from the erstwhile kingdom of Mysore and it is coloured red and gold with ornaments to celebrate, entertain and the star studded glitter of the event. The logo is interesting, attractive and inviting, while espousing that it is from the State of Karnataka.

The charkha or spinning wheel, is a symbol of self-sufficiency, freedom and resilience. The charkha was popularised by Mahatma Gandhi, who used it as a metaphor for ancient work ethics and a symbol of economic and social reaction to British rule.
