The emblem of Sir Theagaraya College (STC) features a golden shield with scarlet outlines houses the motifs of a ‘kuthuvilakku’- a traditional lamp, a veena and an open book; supported by a scarlet banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Sweetness and Light. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the veena refers to arts, culture, tradition and heritage; and the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom.

PUNE DISTRICT CENTRAL CO-OPERATIVE BANK LTD. (PDCC BANK) The emblem of The Pune District Central Co-Operative Bank Ltd. (PDCC Bank) has a motif of yellow gear wheel housing a farmer tilling the land with a pair of cattle and plough circumscribed by its name in Devanagari and supported by its year of inception and its tagline in Sanskrit ‘सत् फलाय् सहकारिता’ meaning ‘Public Benefit Through Cooperation’. A pair of laurels supports the motifs on the sides and a banner and its initials at the bottom. All these are placed on a blue rectangular panel. The farmer refers to agriculture and agricultural financing; the gear wheel refers to industry and industrial financing and the laurels refer to ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

AMUL Amul began when milk became a symbol of protest. It was founded in 1946 to stop exploitation by middlemen and inspired by the freedom movement and advised by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Thus began the cooperative, the Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd. Dr. Verghese Kurien took charge from 1950 and he was the first head of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). AMUL is derived from Sanskrit ‘Amoolya’ meaning invaluable. This is developed from Old English Text typeface and has stood the test of time and is fondly remembered by consumers. The logo is in red colour.

RASHTRIYA RIFLES Rashtriya Rifles (RR) was raised as a para-military force as it was envisaged that personnel posted to RR would comprise regular Army volunteers on deputation, ex-servicemen and lateral inductees from various para-military forces and central police organisations.
