The emblem of Government Degree College, Thannamandi (GDC Thannamandi) features a lighted candle supported by an open book and ensconced by a light green oval border inscribed with the name of the college. The motto of the college in Arabic ‘ربِّ زدْني علماً’, (Quranic prayer) which translates to ‘O my Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge’ is inscribed on a light green ribbon placed on the seal at the bottom. The year of the establishment of the college is written below the ribbon. A pair of green laurels support the seal on the sides. The lit candle symbolises the light of knowledge guiding students toward a brighter future; the book represents academics, literacy and continuous learning; and the laurels signify honor, academic achievement and victory.

The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
