The emblem of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science (SLCS) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of an open book, a gopuram of temple, a factory, images of Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vinayaka, a lotus and a pair of traditional lamps and surmounted by the initials of the college ‘SLCS’. Below the shield, on a banner, the motto of the college ‘Learning for Better Living’ is inscribed. The book refers to education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; the gopuram refers to divine blessings and guidance; the factory symbolises science, technology and industry; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and the lamps represent life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity. Goddess Saraswati embodies the essence of vach (speech), knowledge, and creative expression, symbolising the power to purify the self through the flow of wisdom and art. She represents the pursuit of knowledge and truth, free from the distractions and illusions of the material world. Goddess Lakshmi symbolises good fortune and beauty, abundance, prosperity, wealth and harmony and is believed to relieve all sorrows caused by the dearth of money. Lord Ganesha symbolises wisdom, prosperity, beginnings and removal of obstacles.
