The emblem of Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science (SD College) features a blooming lotus resting upon an open book with golden sun as a backdrop. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World there Exists No Purifier Comparable to Knowledge’ is inscribed. The English version ‘Knowledge the Great Wealth’ is written at the bottom. The lotus over the book refers to the blossoming of the mind through education and the traditional pursuit of knowledge; the sun represents enlightenment and the spreading of intellectual light.

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. The ears of wheat signifies prosperity, food, wealth and nourishment and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.
