VAIGAI ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (VASC)

The shield shaped emblem of Vaigai Arts and Science College (VASC) features a globe on an open book supported by a mortarboard hat, an atomic diagram and assorted sports equipment and the name of the college ‘Vaigai’. At the bottom, on the shield, a banner inscribed with the words ‘Vaigai College’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the book refers to education, learning and wisdom; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the atomic diagram refers to science and technology; and the sports goods and equipment refer to physical fitness, health and competitiveness.
