Jaipur Pink Panthers (JPP) is a professional kabaddi team which belongs to Pink City of India Jaipur, competes in Pro Kabaddi League which is a professional Kabaddi league in India. The team is owned by Abhishek Bachchan. Jaipur Pink Panthers play their home matches at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium. Although the team has gained immense popularity due to its association with celebrity owners, Jaipur Pink Panthers won the inaugural season of Pro Kabaddi League 2014 by defeating U Mumba by 35-24. On December 4, 2020 Amazon prime video released Sons of the Soil, a docu-series based on Jaipur pink panthers and their journey in Season 7 of Pro Kabaddi league. Abhishek Bachchan stated “One day when he (his father) came back home from shooting, he asked me 'How are you tiger? I replied,' I am fine Panther. How are you?' and I was 4-5 years old then. Since then it became like a fun thing, he used to call me Tiger, I used to call him Panther. If there was an animal that we wanted to choose, I was sure that it was Panther because that is how I used to call my father. He further added, ‘Pink is my daughter, Aaradhya's favourite colour. So I thought that Pink and Panther would be nice. My wife has worked in the film Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin, so that is a connection to Aishwarya. Jaipur was the city, Aishwarya and I came together, so that is why Jaipur. If you see, our Pink Panther has blue-green eyes which are the same as my wife's. So there is a personal connection to everything about the Jaipur Pink Panthers." The pink, cyan and black logo has a panther standing majestically supported by a cyan banner carrying its name. The logo is treated like a cartoon with bold and freehand brush strokes.
