ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES RAEBARELI |
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh was approved in February 2009 under Pradhan Mantri Sawasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). Its insignia is a golden circle with its name in Devanagari and English borders and motifs in the centre and its motto in Sanskrit ‘स्वास्थ्यं सर्वार्थसाधनम्’ meaning ‘Health is the Greatest Blessing for Everything’. The serpents and the staff symbolises the ambrosial effect of medication provided by the doctors to succour and relieve the ailing humanity. The two flapping wings denote the mental prowess of noble doctors in terms of right diagnosis and unending search for right medications to tide over and eradicate physical ailments. The sheaves of wheat and people celebrating denote the peace, prosperity and amity that was brought about by good health. The Sanskrit shloka means ‘good health is the greatest blessing and pre-requisite for all ventures in life’.
