The emblem of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has a map of India placed above the radar screen with a grid supported by a pair of laurels. Its acronym in English and Devanagari surmounts the motifs and India’s National Motto ‘सत्यमेव जयते’ meaning ‘Truth Alone Triumphs’ supports. An Indian National Tricolour band supports the radar screen horizontally. The map and the radar represent the aviation and the domain of the Bureau and laurels represent victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

On a blue ribbon placed below the star, the name and place of the college are written.
