The yellow and magenta circular seal of Vama Yog has a yogi supported by a lotus in the back and its name at the bottom and ensconced by a magenta circle. The lotus refers to purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the colour pink denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity and magenta denotes universal harmony and emotional balance.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

GOVERNMENT E MARKETPLACE Based on recommendations of the Group of Secretaries, it was decided to set up a dedicated e market for different goods and services procured by Government organisations, departments and PSUs. This meant transforming DGS&D to a digital ecommerce portal for procurement and selling of goods and services. Government e Marketplace (GeM) aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement. The logo of GeM has several arrow shaped graphical structures, which depicts collaboration, coordination and facilitation between government entities and private vendors. It also contains the acronym and full form of the name, along with the motto ‘Efficient Transparent, Inclusive’.
