The gopuram and coconut palm refer to the prominent places of the locale; the handshake refers to goodwill, agreement, or farewell, representing trust, respect, and equality; and the colours red and blue signifies passion, power, energy, strength, dedication, trust, and sincerity.

The Bihar Regiment claims its origins from the sepoy battalions raised in 1758 by Clive at Patna.
