The emblem of Jila Sahakari Kendriya Bank Sidhi (JSKB Siddhi) features orange and green arrows stacked one over the other and is superscribed by a pair of wheat stalks. These motifs are supported by a its name in Devanagari and surmounted by its motto in Devanagari ‘सशक्त सहकारिता; समृद्ध मध्यप्रदेश’ meaning ‘Strong Cooperation; Prosperous Madhya Pradesh’. The upward pointing arrows refer to growth, dynamism, ambition and achievement; the wheat stalks framing the central design are symbolic of agriculture, prosperity, and the rural communities that the cooperative bank serves and the handshake refers to; cooperation, agreement, togetherness, support and strength. The colours orange and green signifies nationalism.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

WESTERN AIR COMMAND The origin of the Western Air Command can be traced back to the nascent years of independent India, when the various formations of the Air Force were organised into two groups. On July 22, 1949 the No 1 Operational Group was re-designated as the Operational Command. The Command assumed its present name of Headquarters Western Air Command on June 10, 1963. Headquarters Western Air Command, located at Subroto Park, New Delhi, has over 200 bases placed under its command and has been involved in all major operations in India since independence. Due to its geographical location the Command has always been the hub-centre of all operational activities during any operation. Its insignia has a ‘trishul’ and an eagle in the centre of a circle which is topped by India’s national emblem. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘Akashmasthseema’ in golden border is placed at the bottom.
