The emblem of Government Degree College, Kalakote (GDC Kalakote) features a blue circle housing the motifs of a mountain range with peaks, trees and water, a lighted candle and open book and the motto of the college ‘Character is Supreme’. A pair of green laurels support the circle and the tagline of the college surmounts the circle. The short name of the college is written on a red banner placed below the laurels. The mountain peaks depict the rugged terrain of the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, where the college is located; the book is a universal symbol of knowledge, learning and open access to academic wisdom; the burning torch signifies enlightenment, truth and the dispersion of ignorance and it represents the institution's goal to awaken the students' intellectual capacities and guide them toward a brighter future; the laurels are symbolise victory, academic achievement and honours.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’.
