National Institute of Technology Manipur (NIT Manipur) started its first session on August 2, 2010 with three branches of engineering namely - electrical engineering, electronics & communication engineering and computer science & engineering at Government Polytechnic, Takyelpat Campus. Its insignia in red, orange, brown and blue colours has a wheel hoe in blue colour containing a white border having its name written in Devanagari and English. In a circle inside this, a few books and a mortarboard hat supports a glowing sun with spreading rays.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

UDAYANATH COLLEGE OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (UCST) The blue emblem of Udayanath College of Science & Technology (UCST) features Urdhva Pundra - a tilak of a Vaishnava sect with its middle stroke depicted as a flame of fire. An abstract depiction of the holy river Prachi supports the tilak. The motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college. The seal is placed on a decorated platform. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ is written is inscribed on the front side of the platform. Below this, the name of the place of college is written. The tilak symbolises humble surrender at the Lord's feet, spiritual purity, and divine protection from negative influences; the flame symbolises transformation, passion, purification, and divine knowledge; and the river refers to the nativity of the college.

THE TECHNO SCHOOL, BHUBANESWAR (TTS BHUBANESWAR) The emblem of The Techno School, Bhubaneswar (TTS Bhubaneswar) features a six-petalled red flower with its centre depicted as a gearwheel and ensconced by a circular border with blue outlines inscribed with name and other details of the college. The name of the college is written on the right in blue bold serif capitals.The tagline of the college ‘For a Quantum Leap in Degree Engineering’ is written below the name in red script letters. The flower symbolises commonly called a hexafoil or a component of the Flower of Life, symbolises creation, sacred geometry, and divine balance; and the gearwheel symbolises engineering education.

WESTERN AIR COMMAND The origin of the Western Air Command can be traced back to the nascent years of independent India, when the various formations of the Air Force were organised into two groups. On July 22, 1949 the No 1 Operational Group was re-designated as the Operational Command. The Command assumed its present name of Headquarters Western Air Command on June 10, 1963. Headquarters Western Air Command, located at Subroto Park, New Delhi, has over 200 bases placed under its command and has been involved in all major operations in India since independence. Due to its geographical location the Command has always been the hub-centre of all operational activities during any operation. Its insignia has a ‘trishul’ and an eagle in the centre of a circle which is topped by India’s national emblem. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘Akashmasthseema’ in golden border is placed at the bottom.

GOA MEDICAL COLLEGE, GOA (GMC GOA) The shield-shaped emblem of Goa Medical College, Goa (GMC Goa) features scenery of the coastline of Goa with sea, sun, mountains,  and coconut groves. On this background, the motifs of a Staff of Hermes is placed on an open book placed above a four pillared facade and supported by a pair of hands. Below the shield, on a blue banner the year of establishment of the college is inscribed. The shield refers to protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the Staff Caduceus the Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined snakes and wings denotes medicine and medical profession; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the facade with four pillars symbolises the bridge to heaven from earth and the pillar means strength, security of foundation and trustworthiness; and the hands refer to that of the college management.

THE TAMILNADU DR. M.G.R. MEDICAL UNIVERSITY The Tamil Nadu Medical University started functioning from July 1988. The emblem of the university symbolises various systems of medicine viz., medical, dental, Indian medicine, homoeopathy and allied health sciences. It also depicts the global character of preventive, promotive and curative medicine. The motto ‘Health for all’ reflects the objective of the medical university. The circular emblem has a caduceus, the staff of Hermes staff entwined with a snake with a backdrop of a banyan tree and crested by a sun has a yellow banner at the bottom which says in Tamil ‘நோயற்ற வாழ்வு’ meaning ‘A Disease-free Life’.
