ॐ Aum Om
AUM
'ॐ', 'Aum' or 'Om' is the most sacred syllable of Hinduism. It stands for 'Brahman' both as impersonal and personal God. The goal of life, which all the Vedas declare, which all austerities aim at and which men desire when they lead the life of continence, if told in brief: it is Om. This syllable Om is indeed Brahman. This syllable is the 'Highest'. Whosoever knows this syllable obtains all that he desires. The syllable consists of three phonemes ‘a’ Vaishvanara, ‘u’ Hiranyagarbha and ‘m’, Iswara, which symbolize the beginning, duration, and dissolution of the universe and the associated gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, respectively.
