The emblem of Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) features an open book surmounted by five stars, supported by its motto ‘Character is Life’ and circumscribed by its name and  year of establishment placed in a circle. The circle is placed on a thirteen petal lotus. The book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the stars refer to guidance, aspiration and excellence and the lotus refers to purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.

The Akademi functions under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India through its governing council, is an autonomous body under the control of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The emblem of IGRUA has Ashoka Chakra in the centre supported bywings on both sides. It has its name written in Devanagari and English on top and bottom respectively in dark red colour.

Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO). The next stage of development saw the establishment of College of Technology (TECHNO) and College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET).
