The gold and maroon emblem of Himalayan Institute of Pharmacy, Kala Amb (HGPI Kala Amb) features a shield inscribed with an image of Goddess Saraswati and the initials of the college ‘HGPI’. The shield is crested by a mortarboard hat and supported by a laurel wreath. The shield represents protection, strength and the steadfast guarding of academic integrity and traditional moral values; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; and the laurel wreath is a symbol of ceremonies, honour, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication. Goddess Saraswati represents knowledge, wisdom, arts and learning. She is depicted playing the Veena (a musical instrument) and seated alongside a peacock, emphasising spiritual, creative and intellectual enlightenment. The rich maroon and golden yellow colour schemes traditionally denote prestige, institutional authority, nobility of character and the inner illumination that stems from education.
