The emblem of Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College Paprola (RGGPG Ayurvedic College, Paprola) features the Staff of Caduceus with a pair of entwined with a pair of serpents and crested by a ‘bilva’ leaves (also known as Bel Patra or Bael leaves). Four sets of striped leaf patterns are placed above this. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘परोपकारः पुण्याय’ (Aksha Sukta, Rig Veda, Maharshi Vedavyasa) which translates to ‘Altruism for the Sake of Merit’ is written above the motifs and the shorter name of the college is written below the Staff. All these elements are ensconced by a circular border with red outlines and inscribed with the name and place of the college. The Staff of Caduceusis globally associated with medical sciences and this core symbol mirrors the modern medical profession while grounding it within traditional structural healing; the ‘bilva’ leaves are the sacred trifoliate leaves of the Aegle marmelos tree, are revered in rituals and widely used in Ayurveda; the leaf patterns represent growth, nature and the vast herbal biodiversity surrounding the college campus in the Dhauladhar Hills region.
