The emblem of Government College, Jukhala (GC Jukhala) features a yellow shield with green outlines housing a ‘trishul’ or trident holding an image of a yogi in meditation, a red rising sun and an open book supporting a radiating traditional lamp. The year of the establishment of the college is written below the book. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद् याति पात्रताम् ’ (Narayana Pandit, Hitopadehsa), which translates to ‘Knowledge Gives Humility, From Humility Comes Worthiness’ is written on a yellow banner. At the bottom, the name and place of the college is written. The yellow or gold shield symbolises honour, generosity, leadership and divine or digital protection; the trishul is a sacred three-pronged spear carried by Lord Shiva that symbolises cosmic balance, divine power and the destruction of negative forces; the meditating yogi represents inner peace, self-mastery and the union of the individual soul with the universal consciousness; the rising sun symbolises vitality, high aspirations and a bright future for the students; the lamp is a traditional symbol representing enlightenment, the removal of ignorance and the spread of knowledge; and the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.
