The emblem of Laureate Institute of Pharmacy, VPO Kathog (LIP Kathog) features a red toned oval plaque with a golden border housing a golden shield inscribed with the motifs of mountain peaks with an orange rising sun, a mortar inscribed with the symbol ‘℞’ and with pestle and the texts ‘LIPH’ and ‘Jwalaji’. The shield is crested by a traditional lamp, supported by a pair of green laurels on the sides and by a golden banner at the bottom written with the text ‘Excelsior’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp signifies the spreading of enlightenment, wisdom and the removal of ignorance through education and also subtly nods to the spiritual heritage of the nearby flame-centric Jwalaji shrine; the mortar, pestle, and ‘℞’ symbol represent the core foundation of pharmacy practice, compounding and healthcare manufacturing; the mountain peaks reflect the institute's geographic setting in the Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh; the rising sun represents a new dawn, vitality and the continuous energy driving innovation and research in pharmaceutical science; the green laurels symbolise academic achievement, victory, growth and excellence; and the Latin word ‘Excelsior’, which translates to ‘higher’ or ‘ever upward’, highlights the institution's commitment to persistent progress and higher standards of learning. The oval frame acts as a cartouche or protective shield, traditionally representing a safe haven for intellectual growth, academic preservation and the sheltering of knowledge.
