GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, GHANDALWIN (GDC GHANDALWIN)

The emblem of Government Degree College, Ghandalwin (GDC Ghandalwin) features a blue shield inscribed with three white stars supporting an orange banner inscribed with the text ‘Ghandalwin’, an open book and a yellow rising radiant sun. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्याधनं सर्वधनप्रधानम्’ (Niti Satakam, Bhartihari), which translates to ‘Wealth of Education is the Supreme of all the Wealth’ is inscribed on a red banner placed below the shield and the year of establishment of the college is written at the bottom. These elements are circumscribed by the name and place of the college and two orange stars. This assemblage is ensconced by a grey circular outline. The blue shield represents protection, honour and resilience; the three five-pointed stars symbolise excellence, high aspirations and guiding values; the open book is the foundational symbol of knowledge, continuous learning and academic pursuits; the rising sun signifies enlightenment, the dawn of wisdom and the erasure of ignorance; and the orange stars reaffirm the college’s dedication to maintaining stellar standards in both character building and undergraduate education. The colour orange is associated with energy, courage, and enthusiasm.
