(GC SUGH-BHATOLI) |
The emblem of Government College Sugh-Bhatoli (GC Sugh-Bhatoli) features a circle with mountain peaks spewing fire supported by a sunburst with a mortarboard hat and the nib of a pen and an open book. The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘सत्यमेव जयते’, which translates to ‘Truth Alone Triumphs’ is inscribed on a yellow and blue banner placed below the seal. The mountain peaks symbolise the Himalayas and the motif pays homage to the scenic geographical setting of Bhatoli; the spewn fire refers to the ‘volcano-like eruption’, which occurred in Gadiyada village, Sugh-Bhatoli, located in the Kangra district; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; and the yellow arc represents a rising sun, signifying a bright future, new beginnings and the enlightenment that comes with higher education.
