The emblem of Government College Theog (GC Theog) features an orange rectangular panel housing a triangle, a red radiant sun, a pair of abstract deodar trees and the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु’ (Shanti mantra, Taittiriya Upanishad), which translates to meaning ‘May our Study be Enlightening’ and the name of the college. The triangle features an abstract depiction of mountain peaks, and a pair of swans or hansas supporting a ‘kalasha’. The central triangle represents a snow-capped Himalayan mountain peak, which serves as a geographical nod to the college's high-altitude location in Theog, Shimla; the sun represents the light of wisdom, enlightenment and the dispelling of the darkness of ignorance through education; the deodar tree is the state tree of Himachal Pradesh and thrives in the Shimla hills; the twin swans or hansas are closely associated with Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, arts, and wisdom; and the ‘kalasha’ or the sacred pot signifies prosperity, spiritual growth and a wellspring of continuous learning.
