The emblem of Handa College of Education, Jammu (HCE Jammu) features a green circle with a red and white shield housing a parchment scroll and a quill pen and supporting a burning cauldron of fire. The letters H and C are written on the sides of the shield. The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college and a pair of stars. The flames of the cauldron symbolise enlightenment, intellectual curiosity and the dissipation of ignorance through the light of knowledge. The scroll and the quill pen represent literacy, academic scholarship, wisdom and the preservation of learning; the shield represents strength, tradition, protection and a commitment to maintaining an honorable foundation for students; and the five-pointed stars denote excellence, high aspiration and guiding vision. The green colour represents growth, harmony and fresh beginnings in a student's learning journey; and yellow represents brightness, positivity, clarity and energy.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes. The counter of the ‘U’ is filled blue and a stroke of blue and green flows across diagonally from left to right top. This is further cut out by another ‘U’ at the top right corner. The colour blue represents serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour green denotes life, production, fertility, agriculture, environment and nature.
