The emblem of Taawish College of Education, Jammu (TCE Jammu) features a green oblong panel featuring an orange representing a rising sun, which signifies the dawning of knowledge, illumination and the elimination of ignorance through education. The stylised flying-bird motifs and a white matrix also are placed on the green panel. The birds on flight represent liberty, high aspirations and empowerment and it subtly merges into a leaf structure, reinforcing the idea of continuous development; the green backdrop symbolises growth, harmony and vitality; and the matrix refers to academic foundation, structural order and balanced training.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
