XAVIER INSTITUTE OF POLYTECHNIC AND TECHNOLOGY, NAMKUM (XIPT) The logo of Xavier Institute of Polytechnic and Technology, Namkum (XIPT) features a circular border inscribed with the name, place and motto of the college ‘Light of the World’ housing a shield inscribed with the motifs of a transmission tower with electrical lines, the ‘IHS’ insignia, a traditional lamp and a pair of gear wheels. The initials of the college ‘XIPT’ in blue extra bold sans-serif letters and its name are written on the right. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the ‘IHS’ symbol (often called a Christogram) is a monogram representing Jesus Christ; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the tower with lines and the gear wheels refer to the subject disciplines of engineering and technology.
