INDIAN INSTITUTE OF GEMS AND JEWELLERY
The Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery (IIGJ) is a project of the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. IIGJ is a non-profit organization committed to excellence in education. The IIGJ is one of its kind in the country and has been set up to encourage the youth of today to consider a significant career in the gems and jewellery industry. A black and metallic green emblem of shining star studded with a gem is its emblem and its acronym is written in black with bold fine serif typeface resembling fine ornamental cuts and sparking diamonds form the dots of I, I and J. Its name is written below in black.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

MGR JANAKI COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE FOR WOMEN The oval-shaped emblem of Dr. MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women features a woman with books in her left hand and a torch in right hand climbing up a long staircase. The motif is  ensconced by an oval border inscribed with the name of the college and a pair of laurels. Below the seal, on a banner, the motto of the college ‘Excellence Through Diligence’ is written. The motif of a woman refers to the enlightenment, empowerment and growth of women through education and learning. The laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

SRI RAM KRISHNA MAHILA COLLEGE, GIRIDIH (SRKMC GIRIDIH) The emblem of Sri Ram Krishna Mahila College, Giridih (SRKMC Giridih) features a circle with the motifs of an open book, a view of mountains with trees, two electrical transmission towers and an abstract image of coal. The circle is ensconced by an orange circular border inscribed with the name and motto of the college in Devanagari. The motto in Sanskrit reads ‘श्रद्धावान् लभते ज्ञानम्’ (Verse 39, Chapter 4, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘The Believer Attains Knowledge’. The book represents the formal academic education provided by the institution; the landscape depicts the local hills and dales of Chhotanagpur Plateau of the Giridih district where the college is located; the coal symbolizes both the mineral richness of the region and positivity and knowledge gained, which is expected to eventually sparkle like a diamond; and the towers refer to the local power generating capacity.
