THE RAJPUT REGIMENT
The Rajput Regiment is from the Bengal Native Infantry (BNI) lineage. 31st Bengal Native Infantry, raised in 1778, later became 3 Rajput. The Rajput Regiment has long been praised for its fidelity and courage. Its Regimental Centre is Fategarh, Uttar Pradesh and its Regimental insignia is a pair of crossed Katars (Rajput daggers) flanked by 3 Ashoka leaves on either side. Its motto is ‘Sarvatra Vijay’ (Victory Everywhere) and its war cry is ‘Bol Bajrang Bali Ki Jai (Say Victory to Lord Hanuman).

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

SPINTRONIC TECHNOLOGY & ADVANCE RESEARCH (STAR) The emblem of Spintronic Technology & Advance Research (STAR) features a yellow and bluetoned star inscribed with the college’s acronym encircled by fifteen stars in yellow, red and blue shades. On a blue ribbon placed below the star, the name and place of the college are written. The large star represents the acronym ‘STAR’ and reflects the institution's vision for students to ‘sparkle in the galaxy of technological arena’.
