CORPS OF SIGNALS

The Corps of Signals as a separate arm was formed on February 15, 1911. Since then, the Corps has made rapid strides, keeping pace with technology. The Corps has lived up to its motto in Sanskrit ‘Teevra Chaukas’ (Swift and Secure). The Corps of Signals has the privilege of being the EW (Electronic Warfare) arm of the Indian Army with a vast array of computerised and automated state-of-art systems. Its emblem has a runner carrying a star.

KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN The emblem of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has a rising sun with its golden rays resembling twelve flying birds supported by an open book in the National Tricolour. Below the book its motto in Sanskrit ‘तत् त्वं पूषन् अपावृणु’ (15, Shloka, Isavasyopanishad) meaning ‘O Pushan, that I, Truth’s devotee’ and at the bottom the name of the institution is written in Devanagari. THE BIHAR REGIMEN The Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim influences intermingled to produce a soldiery which was traditionally arms bearing, disciplined and deeply religious. The Bihar Regiment claims its origins from the sepoy battalions raised in 1758 by Clive at Patna. The Bihari or poorbia or purviah soldier thereafter continued to provide the backbone of The Bengal Infantry of the British. Its Regimental Centre is Danapur, Bihar and its Regimental insignia is the Ashoka lion. Its Regimental motto is ‘Karam Hi Dharam’ (Work is Worship) and its war cry is ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’ (Victory to Bajrang Bali)and ‘Birsa Munda Ki Jai’ (Victory to Birsa Munda).
